During his stay in Edessa, the visitor is undeniably impressed and awestruck as soon as he sees the Karanos Waterfall and the Double Waterfall which are located in the center of the Waterfall geopark and are surrounded by the green landscape with centuries-old plane trees. Outdoor Water Museum

The point of reference for both residents and visitors of Edessa are the city’s waterfalls.

The oldest of them is called Karanos. Below it there is a small cave and the small church of Analipsi. Anyone who has been there lives an unforgettable experience and promises to return. What you should, of course, not miss to visit if you find yourself there is the area of the Waterfall Park. There is the Open Air Museum of Water (in the old industrial area of Edessa with its water-powered mills, which are primarily from the mid-to-late 19th century) and the Edessa Visitor Information Center to learn more about the city of water.

Traditional district of Varosi

In the Varosi district you will see the beautiful old houses, of Macedonian architecture, that remind you of the old Edessa, while you will enjoy your walk through the narrow and picturesque streets to see its interesting churches. The entire district has been declared a protected area.
